Make Homemade Brussels Sprout Chips

Brussels sprouts. You either love ’em or you hate ’em! I happen to be one of those people who thinks they taste divine. In fact, I try to eat them at least twice a week! Brussels sprouts are rich in nutrients to help boost energy levels and improve immunity. They are excellent sources of fiber, folate, vitamin B6 and vitamin K. Usually, I will roast them up as a tasty side dish with olive oil and onions. This weekend, I took a new approach with these little green veggies. Hello Brussels sprout chips! Sounds weird, right? I promise you…they are the most addicting thing ever. Best of all? I used my food dehydrator to make them so each leaf retains all of the beneficial nutrients. Give this recipe a try!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2-3 cups organic Brussels sprout leaves
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp chunky sea salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 tsp garlic powder

DIRECTIONS:

1. Cut the stems off each Brussels sprout bulb. This will help the leaves separate and come apart. While you are cutting, keep the leaves in a large bowl.

2. Wash the leaves thoroughly and let dry. Put the leaves back into the bowl.

3. Add the olive oil, sea salt, pepper, and garlic powder to the leaves. Using your hands, massage all the ingredients together so the leaves are evenly coated.

4. Place the leaves onto your food dehydrator tray. Set the temp for about 120 degrees and let dehydrate for about 8 hours.
