Daily Nutrition Nibble: Wild about Wheatgrass!

A few times a week, I will cruise on over to my local juice store for a nice shot of wheatgrass. Yep! You heard it; a cup full of bright green juice. Sounds odd, right? It’s actually something that I really love doing because within minutes of drinking my shot I feel so much healthier and happier. Wheatgrass contains over 90 different minerals including calcium, magnesium, and potassium. It’s also an amazing source of vitamin C (perfect for boosting immunity) and vitamin A (for healthy vision and eyes). In addition to these health benefits, wheatgrass has enzymes that can help aid in digestion, something that is important for helping us stay energized. Wheatgrass is high in amino acids which are very important building blocks of protein. We need amino acids for our growth and healthy cell rejuvenation.  If the taste of wheatgrass is just too strong for you, I recommend diluting it with a bit of organic orange juice. You can also add a good quality wheatgrass powder to your daily smoothies. I promise you will be wild about wheatgrass in no time at all!
